The NetWalking Collective was co-founded by SJ Benham and Karen Swift following a simple walk-and-talk around Bushy Park.
Instead of meeting for a coffee or sitting in another meeting room, we decided to go for a walk and quickly realised how different the conversation felt.
We covered so much ground, literally and figuratively. The conversation became deeper far more quickly. Ideas flowed more naturally.
There was less pressure, less formality and none of the awkwardness that traditional networking can sometimes create.
After sharing a simple picture from that first ramble on LinkedIn, the response was overwhelming.
People immediately started saying:
"I live nearby."
"I'd love to join."
"Let me know next time you're walking."
It became clear there was a real appetite for a more human and relaxed way for people in our industry to connect.
What started as two people walking and talking has evolved into a wider community built around curiosity, conversation and connection.
Today, NetWalking takes place on the last Friday of every month at 10am across multiple locations, with more continuing to launch.
The consistency is intentional.
Same time.
Same place.
No pressure.
Easy to plan around.
People know where to find us.
At its heart, NetWalking is networking reimagined. Built around movement, meaningful conversation and genuine connection.
